Book of Dead

After many adventures, Rich Wilde heads to ancient Egypt. What secrets lie hidden behind the sand dunes in Book of Dead?

Play’n GO’s popular slot combines classic paylines, free spins and expanding symbols. Released in 2016, Book of Dead is particularly well known as a high-volatility slot, where wins may come less frequently, but the bonus game can increase the potential for bigger payouts.

Secrets of the Ancient Book

Book of Dead is played on a 5x3 grid with 10 selectable paylines. Winning combinations are formed from left to right, while Scatter symbols can award wins anywhere on the reels.

The objective is to land valuable symbol combinations and trigger the bonus feature, where free spins and expanding symbols play a key role. The higher-paying symbols award wins with just two matching symbols, while the lower-paying symbols require three matching symbols on an active payline to form a winning combination.

Who Is Book of Dead for?

Book of Dead is an excellent choice for fans of Egyptian-themed slot games. Hidden among the dunes, an ancient tomb containing a mysterious book takes players on an unforgettable adventure. The thematic graphics and atmospheric soundtrack, combined with classic paylines and straightforward gameplay, create an entertaining gaming experience. The maximum win of the game is 5,000x bet.

Players who enjoy the Egyptian theme may also want to try Legacy of Dead, where ancient tombs hide special symbols and free spins. For those interested in Rich Wilde's other adventures, Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness explores the fictional world inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos.

Game Features

Book of Dead includes features such as the Scatter symbol, free spins and expanding symbols, which have made it one of Play’n GO’s most popular slot games.

Scatter and Wild Symbols

The Tomb Scatter symbol can award wins anywhere on the reels and also acts as a Wild symbol, meaning it can substitute for other symbols to help form winning combinations on active paylines. At least 3 Scatter symbols trigger the bonus game.

Expanding Symbol

Before the free spins begin, one regular symbol is randomly selected as the expanding symbol for the duration of the bonus game.

During free spins, the selected symbol may expand to cover an entire reel if it helps create new winning combinations. Expanding symbols do not need to appear next to each other to form a win.

Free Spins

At least 3 Scatter symbols activate 10 free spins. During the bonus game, additional free spins can be triggered, while one randomly selected symbol may expand to cover an entire reel to help create winning combinations.

Gamble Feature

Book of Dead also includes an optional Gamble feature. After landing a winning combination, players can either collect their winnings immediately or try to increase them using the Gamble feature.

In the Gamble feature, players can guess either the colour or the suit of a face-down playing card. Guessing the colour correctly doubles the win, while correctly guessing the suit quadruples it. An incorrect guess results in the loss of the entire win.

The Gamble feature can be used up to five consecutive times, with a maximum gamble amount of 2,500 coins. It is not available while playing in Autoplay mode.
